COMMUNITY TRANSPORT
Our community transport scheme is here for anyone struggling to access or use
public transport. It’s a safe and affordable way to travel locally. You can use the
service for all sorts of journeys – health appointments, shopping trips, social clubs or
visiting friends.
Our scheme is driven by friendly and reliable volunteer drivers who use their own
vehicle to collect members from their home address and ensure they get home again
safely. All volunteer drivers have been DBS checked and received full training.
Joining is easy – all you have to do is call our friendly team for a membership form
and pay a membership fee. For every journey you take, there is a £3 booking fee to
pay and your driver will calculate the mileage at 45p per mile – this needs to be paid
in cash, directly to the driver.

Handy Housekeepers can help with:
- Vacuuming
- Dusting and polishing furniture
- Cleaning baths, sinks and toilets
- Washing floors
- Laundry
- Changing beds
- Emptying rubbish bins
- Collecting food shopping from the supermarket
- Collecting prescriptions
- Light gardening
- Companionship
This service is currently only available in Rushcliffe and operates Monday to Friday
from 9am – 4pm.
We charge an hourly rate of £23 per hour. Your Handy Housekeep
will leave you a receipt of hours worked and we will invoice you at the end of the month.
